If you're in the east, especially my area, I hope you're staying home, where it's safe and warm! As I write this we are preparing for the fourth Nor'easter in three weeks! This storm has the potential to dump the most amount of snow yet. I guess Mother Nature doesn't realize it's spring! At least the storm will give me a day off from the renovations we've been doing! Hopefully I can catch up with some of my stamping!
Wow, I've been busy with swaps lately! These swaps are from last month's group swap. The theme was Sale-a-Bration.
For this first card, Debbie Modrowsky made it and she used Happy Wishes. This set is so versatile. There are so many words in this set, the cards you can make are amazing! Her card base was Rich Razzleberry which she embossed with the Garden Trellis embossing folder. I think she also used Powder Pink that she punched with the Decorative Ribbon. I love this punch, it makes a great border. How do you like the "Happy" in a two tone? You can do this a couple of ways, but an easy way is to ink half in the lighter color then use a sponge dauber to ink the other half. Debbie used Lemon Lime Twist and Rich Razzleberry and topped it all off with a bow from the Ombre Lemon Lime Twist Ribbon then went over the letters with some Wink of Stella
Mena Green made this next card and used Beautiful Peacock. Her card base is Berry Burst. She also used Fresh Fig card stock and ink. I really like the Berry Burst Metallic Edge ribbon. It's so soft and the metallic edge gives your project a great pop! Her focal point was punched out with the Starburst punch and layered on Fresh Fig card stock that was die cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits and used dimensionals to pop it up.
Pat Mitello did a tone on tone card with Heartfelt Blooms. Pat also used the Fresh Fig card stock and ink. To go with all this, she used the Fresh Florals DSP. She die cut the sentiment from the Petals and More Thinlits and popped it up with dimensionals. The Fresh Fig Sheer ribbon was tied around the focal image.
I made this last sample for today. I used Lots of Lavender and Petal Palette. I too used Fresh Fig card stock along with Whisper White and Vellum. This was kinda like making a shaker card without the shaker. I first stamped the image on vellum and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. (I used Archival Black and VersaMark) then colored the back side of the embossed image with our new Blends (Rich Razzleberry & Old Olive). I attached the vellum after I colored it in to a piece of Whisper White that I die cut an opening from Lots of Labels then embossed it with the Layered Leaves Dynamic embossing folder. The dynamic means it's a thick folder so you change the sandwich you use. Instead of using dimensionals, I used the Foam Stripes to give it the height it needed.
I hope these cards have jumpstarted your creativity! I'm so glad you stopped by today and look forward to your comments.
