Happy Fourth of July! and a Paper Pumpkin day!

I hope you're having a great Fourth of July and enjoying some time with family and friends! I wish I had something in Red, White, and Blue, but I didn't plan that far ahead!

Today I have some Paper Pumpkin alternatives from our June kit called Broadway Star, which coordinates with the Broadway Bound Suite in the Annual Catalog. Here is the kit and the suite from the catalog.
Here are the projects from the catalog to give you some ideas what you can do. This is a great bundle to do birthday projects with.
Now I have some alternative ideas for you to do with the kit! I did case these, but don't know who to give all the credit to. I tried to use only parts from the kit, but did use a few additional items as well.
This card I only used a piece of Lovely Lipstick to go under the green flagged piece, which is from the kit.
Here I used the new black cord and a small piece of Basic Black card stock to go under the "Hooray". You can see the "Hooray" much better in real life. Guess it didn't photograph well.
These two (above & below) only used the kit. Stampin' Up! has a Paper Pumpkin page on Facebook and they did a Live event and showed a bunch of samples that other demonstrators sent in. These were a couple that I really liked and they were simple to make!
I hope you enjoyed these and they've given you some inspiration to make your own or to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin! I'd love to have you as a customer! Get started on your subscription HERE. You can also check out the Broadway Bound Suite in my STORE to purchase any of the above mentioned products. Don't forget to use this month's VIP Host Code 9MD4MGKV when shopping!

You Are My Anchor Paper Pumpkin Kit

Since Paper Pumpkin has a special until May 10 for first time subscribers. You can get the kit for 50% off your first 2 months! I thought this would be a great time to show some alternatives using the most recent kit, You Are My Anchor.

This is what you make with this kit. You make 4 note cards of 5 different designs and there are 4 boxes to put the cards and envelopes in.
Here are the kit contents. The lighthouse and anchor are the same size as the stamps in the set.
This first card uses one of the note cards as the background layer under the piece of Whisper White. The images are randomly stamped using the images in the stamp set and my own, Crumb Cake & Pool Party inks. I also used my punches to punch out a piece of Pool Party card stock and from the piece that goes around the box. The card base is Calypso Coral card stock. I need to thank Kelly Acheson for this card.
This next card is a shaker card. I got this idea from Tina Rackley Riddle & Lori Mueller. I used the Champagne Foil for the window rim and one of the note cards for the background and the lighthouse die cut. I stamped the birds and glued some sequins to the background so there will always be some "floating" I got the sequins from some past Paper Pumpkin kits.
This card I used the blue Brusho on as a "stormy" background. I got this idea from Jenny Hall.  I sprayed the Shimmery White card stock (front and back) then sprinkled some Brusho on it. Since it wasn't doesn't as much as I wanted, I pulled out my Aqua Painter and did a wash all over and liked this much better. The round circle piece is from the kit, as is everything else. I had a piece leftover from the first card, so I used that as my strip behind the circle. Since it wasn't really long enough I cut it in half. Now it looks like it's one long piece!
This last card was also from Kelly Acheson. This one wiped up in no time! The only thing that isn't part of the kit, is the card base, Pool Party. I took the other half of the note card from the shaker card and trimmed it down a bit and layered it on one of the other note cards, which was cut in half. The striped piece is another not card trimmed down to fit on the card base.

I hoped you enjoyed these ideas. So if you get the kits, save your leftovers! You never know when you're going to need them. If you don't get Paper Pumpkin yet, now is the time! When you sign up by May 10 you'll get your first 2 months at 50% off! That's $10 a month! Besides making the kit, you can always make other cards or projects using the kit. The kits contain everything you need to complete the projects except scissors. I so look forward to getting my kit and putting some time aside to make the kit and then come up with some alternative projects as well. It's like getting a present each month, delivered right to my door! To start your subscription click HERE. Check back next month for more ideas using May's kit.

Ok onto Paper Pumpkin! Have you seen this month's kit? Really beautiful! It's called May Good Things Grow. Here are the contents of the kit. Do you see item with the "5" on it? That's the FREE gift this month for celebrating their 5 year anniversary. The gift is wood elements, natural on one side and white on the other.
Lots of elements in this kit. The inkspot is Early Espresso and you can make 8 cards, 4 of 2 designs with envelopes.
Aren't these cards gorgeous! Let's start with the top left and go clockwise. It's an envelope with a pre-printed border. The flowers are a punch out. The next is also an envelope with the word "Flower" and the rose already printed on it. Below that is a card base of Fresh Fig with a layer of Crumb Cake that has similar roses printed. Lastly, this card I stamped the four corners and sentiment. This was the most amount of stamping.
Here is one of my alternatives using the kit. I used the envelope and cut off the flap to create a pocket. I then took one of the cards and cut it in half and punched out a piece of Fresh Fig using the Pretty Label punch.
The large flower element was cut in half and used one of the sticker strips along the edge. I cut a piece of the ribbon and used one of the wood elements and punch out leaves. I wrapped some of the linen thread around the envelope and tied a bow. For the pull out I stamped the corners and one of the sentiments in the kit.
Here's another that I CASED (Copy And Share Everything). But I can't seem to find who I CASED from! I decided to use some of the wood elements and did direct to ink to color them.
This last one is came up with myself. Here I used the printed leaves and stamped the flower image a couple of times and fussy cut them. I used one of the cards and cut it in half and took one of the wood elements and pushed it into the Fresh Fig ink pad then used it like a stamp and created a border around this layer. I used tweezers to keep my hands on the cleaner side. I also adhered some of the colored pearls.

I hope you've enjoyed these creations. You can get the additional supplies in my STORE and when you're a Paper Pumpkin subscriber you can order additional refills. Not a subscriber? More January Paper Pumpkin

I just can't seem to get enough of January Heartfelt Love Notes. I have a few more alternative cards I made using this kit. I tried to stick with the kit contents and not adding much else except the card base.
For this first card I just cut some strips from the pocket and then had to splice them together since these pocket cards are not as big as a standard card. I then stuck them to the sides of a card base. Lastly I used some scrap whisper white card stock to stamp the envelopes and fussy cut them out.
For this next card I added a scrap of copper foil. The linen thread is actually from an old Paper Pumpkin kit as well as the sequins and doily.
This last card I only added the card base. I did use a circle punch to round the bottom corners of the card. So save your extra supplies from your Paper Pumpkin kits, you never know when they'll come in handy!

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed these cards and try them yourself. This is a great time to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin. When you prepay for 3 months or more you earn a Sale-a-Bration item! More January Paper Pumpkin!

So I had some time to play with my January Paper Pumpkin kit, Heartfelt Love Notes. When I saw this kit, I first thought of a mini album using the envelopes. Now all the kits that are cards come with envelopes, so I'm not sure why I thought of using this kit for that except the envelopes were a natural color. While looking for some inspiration I did see someone else make one so I thought I'd just CASE hers.

Here's the kit and contents. The hearts on half the cards are a copper and the coordinating ribbon also has copper on the edge.
This is the album I made. Instead of the Flirty Flamingo I used Bermuda Bay with the copper.
I used a stamp from the Painter's Palette and Memento ink. I tried to stick with the stamps from the kit otherwise.
On the left side I embossed the sentiment on the black card stock with white embossing powder. That's also a pocket on the left side for a place to put a message or photo. On the right hand side of the page I used the circle tab punch for the pull.
This next page I created a pocket with the note card and used the insert part and washi tape to create a flap. I also used a circle punch and more copper foil and the Sweet and Sassy framelits.

On these last pages I cut off the pocket and adhered it with some black card stock to the left side. The right side I used the stamp from the Painter's Palette again and a small scrap of copper foil. Here I punched another circle, this time in white and another heart in black and some more washi tape.

This was a fun project to make. I'm not sure who yet I'll give it to, but it will be someone special! I hope you enjoyed this project as well. If you haven't subscribed to Paper Pumpkin yet, this is a great time of year to do a pre-paid subscription for 3 months or more. When you start at the 3 month, you'll earn a Sale-a-Bration item as well!
