New Product of the Month - Rooted in Nature

A lot going on already this month and it's just begun! I just had swaps due from 2 different groups and the new annual catalog has just begun! I was able to get the Rooted in Nature as a demonstrator early and just love this bundle/suite! You can buy the stamp set and the framelits separately but when you can save 10%, why not get both!

Each month I spotlight a bundle/suite on Friday and call it Feature Friday. Unfortunately I've been a bit late the last couple of weeks. I'm trying to get better. Hopefully by next week, I'll have this up on Friday!

I can see so many different cards, scrapbook pages, and home decor using this suite! I used this in one of my swaps. How easy will it be to make masculine cards with this suite and fall is a natural. So here are my first cards I made using this suite. I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do for my swap and wasn't sure if I'd have enough of the designer series paper so I went without. First I'll share a video that Stampin' Up! did and then the cards I did.

Card look familiar? I loved the look and wanted to try it. I changed it slightly because I wouldn't have enough of the paper to use for all the swaps. How do you like it? Very easy to do.
This next card I cased from Nicole Wilson. She used some embellishments I didn't have and I wanted an extra layer. I did fussy cut the "you are wonderful". The leaves I used copper embossing powder and then die cut them. The tree is also die cut.
This next card I cased from Tanja Kolar. I'm not sure what country she's from because her card isn't in English. I changed a few things around to make it my own and very happy with the way it turned out. The sentiment is embossed with white embossing powder.
This last card is what I finally decided to be my swap. I did case this as well from Erin Gunson. She did some stitching and a bow. I wanted this to be more  class friendly so I opted not to do that. I used some of the twine that's part of the suite. I used 2 pieces and just tied them together then used my paper piercer to separate the strands. I like this look and think it gives a great! I hope you agree. I did this with the Stamparatus, which is available to everyone! I really believe this is the best stamp positioning tool on the market!

I hope you enjoyed these cards. Please leave a comment, I'd love to hear from you. You can find all these products in my STORE or scroll down to find the products listed. If you don't have a demonstrator, I'd love to be yours. When shopping, make sure to use this month's brand new VIP Host Code JSYCFKXE. You can always contact me, with questions.

March Monthly Swaps

I hope you you had a great weekend. Mine just flew by! I had wanted to get this posted Monday, and a little late today, but we put in a long day on Sunday and yesterday and just didn't have it in me to take the pictures, edit them, then write the post. Since I didn't do any renovations Monday, I was able to get a little other work done, but not nearly enough. On top of it all, our Retired List came out and other big changes coming in June!

When you're viewing the Retired List you'll see all the bundles retiring. As usual, the bundles are only available during the catalog it's in and if it carries over into the next catalog you can still purchase it but you won't get the 10% discount. So if you're interested in any of the bundles in the current Annual catalog or Occasions catalog, get them now!

You'll also notice all the ink pads are retiring. Only some of the colors are actually retiring, in addition to the one group of In Colors. What's happening is, Stampin' Up! has redesigned the case and made it easier to open and the ability to stack them. In addition to that, they've improved the formula of the re-inkers so you don't get bubbles or foam when re-inking your pads.

Ok enough of all that exciting news! For our March swaps the them was masculine cards. We all seem to struggle with making masculine cards, so this should help you a great deal. Again, since I don't have lots of time, I won't be putting out a list of all the product used but I will give you the recipe and you'll be able to find all the product in my STORE.
So Lilly made this first card. I'm not sure what you call this, but I've been wanting to make this style, I'll have to look into making one. Below each card I've done it a little differently. You'll see the stamps, ink, paper listed along with any accessories, dies, etc.
Stamps-Truly Tailored
cs-Very Vanilla Thick,Night of Navy, True Gentleman DSP
ink-Tranquil Tide
Other-Polka Dot Basic Folder
I think quite a few of us used this True Gentlemen Designer Series Paper! I know I did! This is a great layout Mena did! I'll have to also use this on another card.
Stamps-Truly Tailored
inks-Night of Navy, Early Espresso, True Gentlemen DSP, Emerald Envy, Early Espresso, Whisper Whte

The last one for today was done by Carol. Not sure you can see it but she did color the grass around the dog and tractor. It's hard for me to remember, but simple is always great for guy cards!
Stamps-Heartland

I hope you enjoyed today's post. Sorry for the long intro, just trying to play catch up. Hopefully next week things will be back to normal. I'll have to share some pictures of what we've done too!

I would love to see some comments and if you don't have a demonstrator, I'd love to be yours. Check out the tabs above. Make sure to use my  Monthly VIP Host Code VSCMUHCA, WISH LIST, and LOYALTY REWARDS. Also check out the Retired List, and shop early for best selections. You can find everything in my STORE.

Traveling!

Well I was a little lax in getting my posts all scheduled during my time away, but I'm back and had to get a class prepped and then design the cards I had in my head for my Technique Class this Saturday! So I'm sitting here while the snow is pilling up outside!

So as soon as I returned from all the work in Virginia, I had to prep for my Spring Sampler Class. Here is a picture from that post. And if you'd like to make that Sampler, I'm sure I can round up a few people who didn't get a chance to make it the first go around! Then to figure out what to do for my Technique Class and my Shoebox Swap next month! I'm trying to condense the projects I have to come up with so I wanted to use my of my class projects for the swap, plus in checking my email this morning I forgot all about my monthly swap that I have to get out by the end of the month and make a birthday for my brother-in-law! Oh boy, I'm exhausted already!

If you're interested in coming to my class this Saturday, I have some awesome cards for you to create! I don't want to spoil all the fun but here is a picture of one of the cards we're going to do.
Wouldn't this card be great for Father's Day? Also for his birthday! You could even change it around for your hubby's birthday!  I'm not sure what this is called but I'm calling it a flag pop up. Go to my website and RSVP to join us!
Don't forget Sale-a-Bration is winding down! Take advantage of all the FREE product you can earn and the sign up special too!

Window Shopping!

So have you seen the Window Shopping Bundle? No not to go window shopping! The minute I saw this, I had to have it. They showed some samples using this at On Stage in November and was so excited about this set. You see those 3 square dies? Those fit in the square areas of the box sides. You could also use them on their own. This bundle is so versatile. I even came up with a masculine looking card!
Here are a few samples using this bundle. I can't take credit for designing these cards. I did CASE (Copy And Share Everything) them.
This first card also used the Falling In Love Designer Series Paper. I also used the Vanilla ribbon & Falling in Love Embellishments. This was a quick and easy card to put together.
This next project they showcased something like this and knew I had to make it. I used a bamboo screwer for the ships "mast" and punched  holes in the "sail". The fringe scissors really made it simple to fill in the boat.  I used a piece of styrofoam inside the boat to secure the "mast". The boat is just half of the box. This wasn't too difficult to make but did take a bit more then the previous card.

This is another project I saw on Pinterest and had to make it! Not sure if you can tell but I used the clear Wink of Stella on the dragonfly. I tied some of that Sale-a-bration metallic ribbon. I'm really love'n that ribbon.

This was another card that Stampin' Up! showcased at On Stage and have seen several others CASE as well.  The candles are one of the pieces from the die cut that you would use on the side of the box. To have some contrast for the flames of the candles I put a piece of So Saffron behind them. The washi tape is in the Occasions Catalog. It's part of the Cool Treats Suits called Tasty Treats Designer Washi Tape. I also used the Calypso Coral Ombre pad found in the Annual Catalog. The stars are part of the Metallics Sequin Assortment also found in the Annual Catalog. This was a real simple card to make and took no time at all!

This last card I designed for my Technique Class in January. Look similar to the one above? Yup! I stayed with the same format but changed it up a bit. I was showing how you can use the dies to emboss! Now those dies you have can do even more! With this card we did a dry emboss and heat emboss. I will try to get a video out soon on how I did this. It's really not that difficult but can take a little practice. I used gold embossing powder for the candles and the Happy Birthday. The washi tape is from the Urban Underground Suite.

I hope you enjoyed all these cards today! If you like to get any of these products you can shop my store HERE! Another great part of this bundle is it qualifies for a FREE Sale-a-Bration item! If you have any questions, please let me know, I'd love to hear from you! I'd love to be YOUR Creative Coach!
