New Valances!

I'm down in Virginia and the snow, yes, snow on the eastern shore of Virginia, is melting very quickly . I understand NJ has been hit again with snow, rain, and whatever else, with more on it's way. When will this end!

Just a quick note on my new valances. It only took me about a year, but I finally got my valances made for the kitchen! They turned out really nice. I'm very happy with them. This window is the one over the sink. There are two windows that face the front of the house, which I didn't take a picture yet. It seems like the last couple of days have been catching up with unfinished projects and this one was long overdue!

February Technique

Well it's snowing again here in NJ! What a surprise! I was suppose to be going to Virginia but they are getting even more snow then us, if you can believe that! Well it's time to catch up. Because of the cold I moved class to Saturday morning. One because it was just too cold to go out Thursday night and then Saturday afternoon, guess what? they were calling for more snow! I just can't wait for this winter to end! I do enjoy the snow, but just not all the time and so much. I hate the cold. Anything below 80 degrees is cold to me.

So let me get back on track. Here are this month's techniques:

This first one was so simple. Not sure what you call it, but it's using the Sale-a-Bration embossed paper.
This next technique is called Bokeh. It's pronounced a couple of different ways, so don't ask me! This one is a bit more involved and I've seen it done a few different ways as well. It's suppose to look like a photo with a blurred image. The base starts with watercolor cardstock.
This last technique, which you really can't see is using the mini treat bag frame lit and instead of making it flat, it's a gusset bag. These would be great to use for party favors or just to give someone a small treat. I love this frame lit, there are so many possibilities with it. It comes with many pieces that you can use with the bag or just use on your cards or scrapbook pages.

Well I will work on getting more posts up. This month has been difficult with running back and forth to Virginia, I feel like I'm not sure where I am half the time when I wake up! Keep warm, pray for warmer weather and keep thinking SPRING!

Last Technique for January

This card took the most amount of work. I combined to techniques into one, plus the piece where we stamped "Timber, I have fallen for you!" is another technique all on its own. The background is the technique. We used the largest acrylic block and inked the block with the ink pad, leaving blank areas, but not too much. Then spritz with water and stamped a piece of watercolor paper, smooshing it to blend it all together, filling in any "white" areas. Then if needed blotted with a paper towel and used a heat tool to speed up the drying. After that we ran it through the wood embossing folder.

Don't tell my husband, but this is his Valentine card this month. Now I have to come up with a birthday card! His birthday is a week later!
