Paper Pumpkin Alternatives!!!

Well I had a chance to play around with my January Paper Pumpkin kit. I wanted to get some ideas online, but I'm having problems with my internet! So I went through some old swaps (I've got a bundle!) to get some ideas. What a great resource! I really need to do this more often!

Here's what the kit makes.

Here is the contents of the kit.

I thought this was a cute kit. A little untraditional as far as the colors go, but still is a pink. They open on an angle and have a white card that's scalloped at the top to right a note on. You can easily put a gift card in it as well. One of the holders has copper hearts and the other is white strips. The ribbon has a copper edge to it also.

So here are the cards I came up with. While looking through my swaps I came across several that had this diagonal cut to them and thought, this should be a snap! I used my heat tool to get the adhesive apart to make it easier to cut it. I was tempted to cut the one "Happy Valentine's Day" stamp, but didn't. I masked it when inking and after I stamped the Valentine's section I should have cut it apart. I'm sure it would have stamp much better. I used some Copper Metallic thread behind the envelope to give it some interest and put the ribbon through the whole that's suppose to hold the holder together.

For this next card I cased a card we did last year using the DSP that was in the Occasions at the time. I added a piece of copper foil behind the vellum banner that was included in the kit.

For both these projects, I didn't add much in the way of other materials. The card bases and layers and a few other things. Here's the photo again of the kits contents.

I'll work on some more alternatives with this kit. I do really like the colors. They're not ones I would usually choose, but thought they worked well together.

Since it's Sale-a-Bration, this is a great time to get a 3 month or more pre-paid subscription. A 3 month subscription will earn you 1 Sale-a-Bration item! You can also see all the options available HERE.

I hope these cards have jumpstarted your creativity! I'm so glad you stopped by and look forward to your comments. Mores Swaps!

Happy Monday! Hope you had a great weekend. I have another round of swaps for you. I think this group has a much different look then some of the others. Even though we are all using the same two colors, but using white or DSP in large amounts, it really changes everything!

Just a refresher, these are swaps from a monthly group I participate in. Each month we have a different theme. The host chooses the theme and are due at the end of the month. We lost a member in December so we are a group of 9 wonderfully talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators. So the theme for December was a color combo with any DSP and a thank you card. The color combo was Smokey Slate and Perfect Plum.

This first card was made by Jen. So different from the rest of the cards! I love it! Amazing how all these colors work together. She also used one of my favorite dies, the Stitched Shaped framelits.

This next card, same! Using some DSP with color makes all the difference! Laura made this card. So simple, a stamp, ink, paper and a little ribbon. Just looks great!

The last one for today was done by Mena and using more white has definitely brightened up her card as well. Her white was the White Shimmer. You can't see it in the photo, but there is a hint of shimmer in the paper. Love this card stock. I really like how she used her DSP as "grass" for her flower.

Thank you for stopping by. I look forward to your comments. You can find all these products in my STORE or look below for all the items I used on these cards. If you don't have a demonstrator, I've love to be yours. There are all kinds of benefits for shopping with me. Check out the the VIP Host Code and your Wish List for more details.
