Painted!

The hallway walls are painted! The windows still need to be purchased and put in and the trim work still needs to be done, but I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel! Here a few of how it looks now.
Looking at this first picture, the walls look like two different colors, but it isn't. I'm still debating on painting the trim around the doors and windows or just re-staining.

Here is where the new windows will go. Hoping that will happen next week.
The pull down stairs still need some finishing work and the sconces have to be put back up.
I just have a light bulb hanging where the chandelier will go, which I still have to buy. Yes, it's still another week at least of work but it's feeling so much closer to done. We'll also be changing out all the switches and outlets, new doorknobs and doorbell! Hopefully I'll have completed pictures next week.

Project Life

At our Fall Fest event we had a contest for using the Project Life by Stampin' Up! to make a card. I love this new product. There are so many different things you can do with this besides memory keeping. Here are a few of the cards.

and here is one that's not a card but a scrap page
And here are samples I had made for display at the event. This first sample is using a small clipboard as the base. I stamped directly on the board and added washi tape (from accessory pack) at the top. I also used some card stock and ribbon along with other cards within the set to embellish. The other embellishments were also from the accessory pack.

This next sample is one of the bags in the annual catalog that I made into a bag-a-lope and used one of the cards with a pocket and another to go inside. The stamp set is For All Things.

Next up is this is a matchbook made out of DSP and used the stickers from the accessory pack to embellish. The bottom "dots" are brads and the inside I used some of the smaller cards.

This next little "pad" I made was using one of the larger cards and I cut in half to make two smaller cards for the front and back. It's embellished with a stamp and punches.

This is a gift card holder. I used a small card for the front and a piece of card stock for the back. The stamp is from Perfect Pennants. This was super easy.

This box was using the larger card I believe. Again super simple. Just some scoring, a few snips, glue and you have a box!

Here are some Project Life by Stampin' Up! cards is did for the display. This first card is a shaker card. After making I thought I should have used the smaller punches from the edge punches, but it turned out ok.

This next card is also using the Blendabilities. Out of all the cards I with the Project Life by Stampin' Up! this card took the longest to make. The others were so quick and easy, I couldn't believe how fast it went.

I hope you enjoyed this rather long post and all the ways you can use the cards. Next week I'll post some of the pages I made with Project Life by Stampin' Up!  cards.  If you would like to purchase any of the product or have a question, please email me and I'd be more then happy to help. Now I'm off to finish painting my hall! Hoping this project will be done this weekend!

Feathers, Feathers, Feathers

I was over my upline Tina's house today and we made a couple of cards with one of the new sets in the Holiday Mini, Four Feathers and Feathers Framelit dies. You can purchase this as a bundle. This is such a fun set and have seen so many samples with this bundle. I'm really lovin' this set. This first card Dale found, she actually found both of these cards, but the first card was one that a fellow demonstrator who had gone to Founder's Circle. This was her swap card. It uses a technique that I haven't used in a while, masking and emboss resist.

This second card is much simpler. It's just stamped and die cut and then use the piece cut out on the card as well.

Technique Thursday

Yes, I know its not Thursday, but didn't a chance to post this yesterday. So here goes. I have a theme going this week, it's Blendabilities! I demonstrated this at our recent Fall Fest and LOVE this product! In my research I found so many things you can do with this product besides just coloring in an image. Some I learned at convention and some through various demonstrators online. For this past class it was a basic Blendability 101, for my technique class we did some other techniques then the basic coloring. Here are the cards we did in class.
I got this from idea Vicky Hayes, she is a demonstrator in Australia and one of SU current Artisians
For this card we stamped on the silver foil cardstock using the white Stazon opaque ink. The pumpkins do shimmer, just hard to see in the picture. I did a different background then Vicky, but the same technique.
This card I CASED from Shelli herself!
Shelli showed this at convention and forgot all about it and someone had this posted on their pinterest page. Shelli didn't do the happy, happy, happy on the black cardstock she just used our regular markers and colored each happy with a different color and stamped on white. What I did was to ink in VersaMark and stamp on black cardstock and used white embossing powder then colored in with our blendabilities. As you can see you do get a different look, both nice.

The last card was using the Back to Black DSP. This is actually the "wrong" side. The other side is the side we colored in and since the blendabilities  bleed through, this is what you get on the back side. I think this is so cool looking. Hope you enjoy it as well.  My friend/demonstrator, Dale, has a picture of the full display I had at Fall Fest. This way you can see what both sides look like.

Thanks for stampin by and see you next time!

LNS Fall Treasure Hunt Blog Hop

Welcome to another round of the TREASURE HUNT, sponsored by the Late Night Stampers!
If this is your first time joining in on the Hunt, here's how it works:
At the top of this blog, you'll see a page called 'Late Night Stampers Treasure Hunt – Participating Blogs'.  Click on this page – you'll see a list of Stampin' Up! Demonstrator's names, and their blog addresses.
1)Visit each blog address (just click on the link).
2)On each of the blogs, you'll be searching for a Treasure Chest like this
to let you know they are participating in the Treasure Hunt.

to let you know you're in the right place.

4) Now what you need to search for ON EACH BLOG is  A CLUE – the clue will be a specific Stampin' Up! product, which the poster will identify as being their clue.  (in other words, you can't just pick any ol' product they have on their page – it has to be their specific clue).

) THIS IS MY CLUE – the GIFT BOW BIGZ L DIE!

Here is something you can do with the bow maker besides making a bow. My fellow friend Dale Morin made this.

6) Once you've collected 1 CLUE FROM EACH BLOG ON THE LIST, you email your list of clues to any ONE demonstrator on the list WHO IS IN YOUR COUNTRY.  In other words, if you live in USA, you can email  your list to me, or to any other demonstrator who is in the USA.
The reason you have to email your list to a demonstrator in your country is simple – Stampin' Up! only allows us to ship products to customers within our own country.  Since we have demonstrators in more than 1 country,  we'll be having a winner within each participating country!!  That's right – you're only competing against others within your own country to win – not against everyone in the world who enters!  That betters the odds in your favour for sure, right?! Gotta love that! :)
7) The Treasure Hunt runs from now until November 15th – you MUST SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY NO LATER THAN NOVEMBER 15TH.
8) The winning entry will be drawn & announced on November 25th – this is to give us time to gather entries from within our own country, and do the drawing.
ONLY 1 ENTRY PER PERSON; DUPLICATES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED.  In other words – only submit your entry to 1 Demonstrator  on the list – not all of them .
Okay – you have your instructions, you have my clue –  NOW GO!!  Happy 'hunting' – and don't forget to admire the awesome creative projects as you check out each blog – and we would love it if you could take a second to leave a comment, so we know you were here!
Thanks for  playing along – until next time
Happy Stamping, and Happy Treasure Hunting!

Fall Fest Update

We had a fabulous time this past Saturday. I was busy before my vacation and last week making samples for Fall Fest and learning as much as I could about our new Blendabilities. My Blendabilities class was today as well. I'll be repeating this class in the future so if still interested, stay tuned!  Here are a few pics of some of my Blendablities samples:

I colored the Back to Black DSP and the pearls. Copied this from someplace but can't find the demonstrator, sorry.

This is the reverse side of the Back to Black DSP. The Blendabilities bleeds through and this is the outcome. Isn't it amazing!

This card was embossed with an embossing folder and then colored in with the blendabilities, also colored the brads that are in the center of the flowers.

This and That

Well hopefully the post I scheduled from Tuesday worked. I headed out late for our trip, but that's okay we are still ok. The one picture I wanted to upload wasn't working and like I said, I should have left for vacation already. So here it goes. This first picture is a card I did for my blend abilities presentation. I can go into more detail when I return and the second picture is the card I did for the Holiday Mini swap I recently participated in. Again more details on my return. Hope you're having a great week and will post pictures of the trip!

Some Fall cards

I've been so busy with making samples for Fall Fest and realized that none of the samples were a fall theme! So here are a couple of cards I made. One is using the Fall Fest and Seasonally Scattered stamp sets and the other uses For All Things. All are in the holiday mini. I did case these cards.

Happy Stamping!
