Feature Friday

Since Valentine's Day is next month, I thought I'd use something that would give you ideas for that day, but also for weddings, anniversaries, or just showing someone how much they mean to you! So for this month, I'll be featuring the Bloomin' Love stamp set and coordinating thinlit called Bloomin' Hearts.

The stamp set comes in photopolymer, which makes it very easy to stamp some of the phrases in the banner. The heart in the stamp set is just like the die but smaller. They were intended to coordinate not be exact matches. When this first came out, it was a bundle but no longer. Of course you can still purchase both!

So to start off this month, I went with a couple of cards you could use for Valentine's Day or a wedding/anniversary. I also did a box to coordinate with one of the cards! I hope you enjoy!

I did CASE (Copy And Share Everything) this card. Of course it's changed a bit. I just thought this was such a beautiful card and what a great idea to cut out a heart within a heart! I did use some other products besides the bundle (Sweet & Sassy, Large Numbers, Window Box Framelits). It just made doing this project so much easier. The Large Numbers was used to cut out the banner.

Here is just the card. Do you see those tiny little hearts? They're from the Window Box Framelits. I used this framelit in the next project.

Here is how I did the card front and the heart. It was really just a wash onto some Shimmery White card stock. I tried to do the card front a bit lighter then the heart. To get a deeper color, I put a couple of drops of re-inker into the lid of the ink pad, then squeezed some water from the aqua painter into it and just washed over the card stock. Once it was dry, I die cut the heart.

Here's a close up. You can see better how I cut out a heart from the floral heart. I used the same heart to die cut a heart from Vellum card stock. The banner was gold embossed. A little hard to see in this picture.

For the inside, I went real simple. I inked and stamped off the heart before stamping it in the card, then stamped the sentiment. I used Powder Pink, Crumb Cake, and VersaMark on this card.

So here is the coordinating project. It's a box using the Window Box Framelit. This is the perfect size for a small gift or some chocolates! You can get 5 Lindt truffles in this box or a whole lots of kisses! Here you can see the heart that I cut out from the card. I also used a small heart die for the Powder Pink heart you see. I did stamp the front of this box in Crumb Cake, but you can't see it. With the Window Box framelits, it has 3 different images that fit for the sides of the box. One has hearts, so I used that. I only did every other panel. I stamped the banner again, but used the Powder Pink ink instead of embossing it. I also used the Powder Pink 3/8" shimmer ribbon as a belly band. Everything but the solid heart is attached to the belly band so you can just slide it off to open it. The hardest part to this project is putting the box together. I used the Tombo liquid glue, it does make it much easier.

So for this last card, was MUCH easier! I made this for a very dear friend who just got married and loves Calypso Coral, so I used that for a pop of color. I stamped one of the images randomly in Crumb Cake on Crumb Cake card stock. A piece of Calypso Coral down the center and die cut the heart in the Shimmery White card stock. I love this card stock, it has a soft shimmer to it and adds a beautiful touch to any project! On the smaller hearts, I stamped the coordinating flower. For the larger flowers, I stamped them in the Calypso Coral and then die cut them with that die. I also added some Iridescent sequins to the center of the flowers. To finish it off I added a bow from the new organza ribbon in the Occasions catalog.

I hope you enjoyed these projects and maybe give something a try. I look forward to comments.
