Monthly Swap - Last Group

Happy Memorial Day! Before anything, I just want to thank all those who serve us or who have served us. It takes a special person to put their life on the line and help defend our country or others who cannot defend themselves. A HUGE Thank You!!!

I hope you're having a wonderful holiday and/or holiday weekend. Mine is going to be a quiet one. With everything that's been going on in my life, I need some down time!

So I have for you my last two swaps from my monthly group. Just as a refresher, the theme was to make a background from your stamps, to make it look like patterned paper. As I have been doing with my swaps, I'm listing the products used after each sample. You'll be able to find all the products in my STORE. I'll provide the link again at the end.
This first one was made by Debbie Modrowsky. I didn't see her often before she moved so now I get to see her even less! I do miss her! She is a very talented stamper and all around wonderful person! Love her swap! I didn't get this stamp set, was just on the fence with it. A girl can only have so much! So I'm so happy to get this swap.
Stamp: Fabulous Flamingo
Ink: Tranquil Tide, Lemon Lime Twist, Flirty Flamingo, Memento Black, Pool Party, Powder Pink
Card Stock: Sahara Sand, Tranquil Tide, Powder Pink, Whisper White
Accessories: 1 1/2" Circle Punch, Metallic Sequins, Wink of Stella
I made this last card. This is one of my favorite sets from the Occasions Catalog and so happy it's carrying over into the new Annual Catalog. It looks a little flat in the picture, so you can't really see or tell I used dimensionals behind the bird to pop it up. The glimmer paper I used is retiring, however they will have something very close to this, you can easily swap them out.
Stamps: Petal Palette
Ink: Old Olive, Black Memento
Blends: Combos of Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral
Card Stock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Old Olive, Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer
Accessories: Petals & More Thinlits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Big Shot, Pearls, Dimensionals

I hope you enjoyed these last 2 swaps and they have inspired you to create some cards of your own. If you have any questions, please contact me, I'd be more then happy to help. If you don't have a demonstrator, I'd love to be yours. Again, you can find all these items in my STORE. There are a couple of place to get all the benefits of shopping with me. You can find them in my VIP Monthly Host Code and Wish List. So when shopping, make sure to use this month's Host Code 4MXCH2YS. Enjoy!

Feature Friday

TGIF! Well better late then never! What a busy day and week. I had gotten half of the cards done but couldn't get to finish them until this afternoon. In trying to figure out what I wanted to do, I found a few samples using the bundle but wanted to do more stamping then making the specialty paper the focal point. So to save on time, I did a lot of CASEing (Copy And Share Everything).

As a recap, I've been trying to Feature a Bundle from a current catalog and highlight that bundle all month long on Fridays. For May, I Featured the Share What You Love since it's a special this month. This is something everyone can get before it's available in the catalog next month. There are 3 bundles, "Just Getting Started", "A Little More", and "Gotta Have It All". You can check them out in my STORE.
These are the main products I used on today's cards. They are all in the the "A Little More" Bundle.
This first card I CASED from Sarah Klass. I thought this was so interesting I had to figure out what she did.  To me it looked like it was watercolored but looking closer saw it wasn't. The image is dry embossed using the Lovely Floral Dynamic Embossing Folder then colored everything on the debossed side with Blends. I used Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, and Pink Pirouette. The Pink is retiring but we'll have a new Pink which I think would work great.
This next card I CASED from Cindy Elam. I did change this one up a bit. She had used one of the pieces from the embellishment kit to stamp the "thank you". Since I was trying to use minimal product, I used a strip of Very Vanilla and popped it up with some dimensionals. Here I embossed the same flower and added the color on the embossed side. I used daubers to add color to the embossed images.
This last card was CASED from Stamp a Latte.  I'm not sure exactly what she did, but I embossed the floral image 2x on the front panel. It also looked like she used markers to color the images and sentiment, so that's what I did. I had tried to see if using the markers would also work for coloring in the flowers but that wasn't looking right, so I pulled out my Blends and that was the trick! I used the Rich Razzleberry combo and the color lifter, just to lighten the top edges.

I hope you enjoyed these cards. If you don't have a demonstrator, I'd love to be yours. I have specials just for my loyal customers which you can find info about in the tabs above. These bundles are available in my STORE. I've also listed the products I used below. Depending on which bundle you choose you may not to get some of the other items. When shopping make sure to use this month's VIP Host Code 4MXCH2YS. Have a great weekend!

Ready for More Swaps!

I have a couple more cards for you today from my monthly swap group. If you missed the others, you can find them HERE and HERE. I'm part of a group of demonstrator that swap cards each month. We all take turns being the host and choosing what the theme will be for our month that we host. The are due the end of the month, so these swaps are from our April swap and the theme was to make a background out of stamps.

I've listed the products used with each card to make it easier to figure out who used what.
This first card was done by Pat Militello. It didn't show up real well, but the card base was embossed with the Hexagons Dynamic Embossing Folder. She heat embossed the flowers for her background on the Shimmery White then colored them in. This turned out really nice.
Stamps: Oh So Eclectic, One Big Meaning
Card Stoc: Shimmery White, Wisteria Wonder
Ink: Archival Black, Versa Mark, Wisteria Wonder, Pink Pirouette, Soft Sky, Pear Pizzazz
Accessories: Aqua Painter, Copper Emboss Powder, 1/8" Silver Ribbon , Hexagons Dynamic Embossing Folder, Layering Circle Framelits
This second card was done by Carol Barbati. She used the main image from the Dragonfly Dreams to create her background. I'm so glad this set is carrying over into the new catalog.
Stamp: Dragonfly Dreams
Card Stock: Pool Party, Daffodil delight, Lemon Lime Twist, Whisper White, Shimmery White, Vellum, Basic Black
Ink: Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist, Powder Pink, Black Stazon
Accessories: Sponge, Daffodil Delight Marker, Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits, Wink of Stella.

I hope you've enjoyed these cards. Keep a look out next week for the last group. You can find all these products in my STORE. Some items used with these cards are retiring and those items are "while supplies last". So hopefully they are still available. When shopping, make sure to use this month's VIP Host Code 4MXCH2YS. I'd love to hear your comments, so please leave a message!

Feature Friday

Yes I know it's Saturday, but things had to get changed around. I was suppose to have my Technique Class today but had to move it to Friday and was still in the process of putting together projects for it when I should have been getting this post together. LOL! I'll get it together some day!

So since I haven't really put a post together for this month. Here is the first Product of the Month. I'm coordinating the special Stampin' Up! has with the Share What You Love. There are 3 bundles to choose from along with the new In Colors. But I'm focusing on the bundles you can purchase this month. They are really great deals. Each bundle has FREE item(s)! I'll post the specials at the bottom of this post.
This is the stamp set I'll be focusing on. "Love What You Do" It's a great versatile set.
Here is the Designer Series Paper, Share What You Love. This is gorgeous paper. It's a speciality paper and the pack is a double pack with 24 sheets and most of the papers has a pearlized accent. The picture really doesn't do it justice. The only way to get this paper this month is in the biggest bundle.
This first card is did case from Dawn Thomas. This is a great way to use up some scraps. Really not much to this card. I took a piece of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of black card stock and after punching out pieces of the DSP with the Tailored Tag punch. I even used the punch for flagging the end of the sentiment strips. You don't see it, but I layered this panel on a piece of Petal Pink, a new color. The ribbon is also part of this bundle. It's a Rich Razzleberry Velvet ribbon that I tied a piece of white Baker's Twine around the middle.
This next project was a lot of fun. I saw this on The Paper Pixie's site. She does some unusual boxes or containers. I think she called it a Pop Out Box. She got it from another demonstrator as well, but I don't remember her name. I used the same ribbon as a belly band to hold the box closed.
Here it is with the lid off. The inside has what's called a napkin fold. The box bottom is a base box.
Here's a top view.
And here is what it looks like all the way open. I used the Statement of the Heart set and die cut it with the Stitched Shapes. A fun project to make.

I hope these have inspired you to get one of these bundles or try these yourself. If you need help with creating these, please contact me. To purchase these bundle, scroll down. Here is also a video describing the different bundles. As always, you can find all these products in my STORE or use the links below. Make sure to use this month VIP Host Code 4MXCH2YS.
