June Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

Ok, this is not July's kit, but I'm working on it. These samples are from June's kit, One in a Melon.

I thought this was a pretty cute kit. For my area, school is still in session, so this would work for a teacher's gift. I think it came after Father's Day, but would work for that or any summer celebration. I didn't get a chance to work on some alternative ideas right away, but I did make the items the kit was intended to make. I do usually do that right away! I really enjoy getting these kits and putting some time aside even if it's just to make what the kit calls for.
Here are the 3 cards I made from the kit. I didn't have to add much to these cards. I do try and use everything that comes in the kit, but if I'm making cards, I'm going to have to pull out some card stock for at least the bases.
This first card, I just added the base of Melon Mambo. The background is the bag of course and cut the note card for the next layer. The sentiments are from the kit, "Sweet" is stamped on the banner from the kit and cut a piece of card stock in the kit for the small sentiment. I really like the baker's twine in the kit. I like to use that because it adds nice dimension and texture without adding too much bulk for mailing!
This next card was actually the first card I made and used the Lemon Lime Twist for the base and again used the bag for a layer. I couldn't figure out why this layer was so much smaller then the one above! Then I realized this was the "back" of the bag! I must have been real tired! I cut both of the striped pieces on the score lines. I made a small border on Whisper White. I felt it blended with the card base too much. The only other thing I added was the strip of Melon Mambo. I felt this helped pop the yellow tag and pulled from the melon and baker's twine very nicely.
This last card looks pretty much like the bag and card combined! Here I layered the striped piece on Basic Black then on the Lemon Lime Twist. I really like this color. I realized I have a summer dress that has this color in it, with some blues and a splash of bright pink like Melon Mambo. I'll have to use that combo on a card! I also noticed I have a summer top that looks very close to the Lemon Lime Twist that I've had forever! So can you tell I like this color!?

For those of you who are my subscribers, I do set aside some time for us to work on our kits together, for those too far away, you can see here what I'm doing! Now with all these samples wouldn't you just love to have your own Paper Pumpkin subscription? Yes! To start your own Paper Pumpkin subscription go HERE!

Hopefully next week I'll have some alternative ideas for your July kit, Positively Picturesque. I have made the cards in the kit, just haven't had a chance to think up anything different yet!

Well that's it for today. I don't know why some areas of this post I have the info next to the card and others not. I just couldn't get it to work! Isn't technology wonderful? Thanks for stopping by. I look forward to comments and let me know what you'd like to see! Whether it's Paper Pumpkin, cards, scrapbook pages, 3D, home decor. Have a great day!

2nd Half of June Swaps

Here are the rest of my Monthly Group Swaps. In case you missed the first group, you can find them HERE. Out of the 9 swaps, 6 were geared toward Babies!

This first card was made by Carol, she used the new set At Home with You. This set has a coordinating framelits. You can get this as a bundle in this new catalog and save 10%, Yay! Carol also used the Duet Tag & Balloon Bouquet punches and Seaside Embossing folder. What's nice about the At Home with You stamp set is it's photopolymer and she was able to bend it to work with the curve of the punch, how cool! The colors Carol used were Blushing Bride, Soft Sky, Bermuda Bay, along with Whisper White.

This next card was done by Lilly and used an old favorite of mine, Teeny Tiny Wishes. This card is so simple to make and can easily be changed up for a birthday, wedding, or anniversary. Lilly used the new Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper. The bow was made with the Bow Builder punch and the sentiment was punched out with the Classic Label. She also used the new Glitter Enamel Dots. I love these dots! They package has 4 colors, Dapper Denim, Crushed Curry, Berry Burst, Old Olive and the go from the color to a gradual lighter shade and also has 4 different size dots. They look so yummy!

I just love this next card and want to get this new bundle! It's called Celebration Time. As you can see it works great for a wedding, but the set has a couple of birthday sentiments. I can easily see this used for anything you want to "celebrate"! This card was made by Jennifer. So simple but elegant! Behind the cake is a piece of the new Wood Textures Designer Series Paper and die cut it with the Layering Circles. The rest is die cut with the Celebration Thinlits.
This next card was made by Mena, who coordinates the swap, thank you Mena! Last year when this Thinlit came out, I had to have it! Another favorite of mine! Instead of using the same phrase with the coordinating bundle, Mena used Rose Wonder, which also has a coordinating Thinlit. Again I can see this getting changed up for any occasion you want to celebrate. She used Black and Vanilla as her colors with a bling of the Silver Glimmer paper. The ribbon is a returning one called Natural Trim. It comes in vanilla with either gold or silver metallic running through the center.
This last card is by Vicki who was the host for June.Vicki didn't use new stamp sets but did use a new embossing folder, Sweetheart Textured and new Designer Series Paper called Bundle of Love. This new paper is absolutely gorgeous! It comes in Blushing Bride or Soft Sky and gold foil. Just stunning paper! Vicki die cut the heart with the Sweet & Sassy Framelets and used the Duet Banner punch, which you've seen on several of the cards. As you can see a very useful punch!

I hope these cards have given you some inspiration if you have something to celebrate! Remember just change out the phrase and use something you already have. If you would like to get that punch, or anything else, just click on my STORE and make sure to use this month's Host Code!

Please leave a comment and let me know how you are enjoying the samples and what you'd like to also see! Thanks for stopping by! Until next time!

June Group Swap

I'm working on catching up with all the swaps I recently participated in. This last swap is the monthly swap I participate in. The theme changes each month. For June it was brides and babies. I don't really have much in the way of either of these themes since I don't have any family members or friends in need of either! That sounds sad, but that's ok! I really enjoy this monthly swap, they are a group of some amazingly talented women!
These first two cards used Baby Bear. This set was designed to look similar to a photo. I think they nailed it! Amazing how different each card looks using the same set! The first card was made by Debbie and used the new ombre ribbon and Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper both in the new Lemon Lime Twist, I love this new color!
This next card was made by Gayle. She also used the ombre ribbon, but paired it with the Daisy Delight Designer Series Paper and instead of stamping the sentiment right on the card stock that the bear is on she stamped it on a piece of the Crumb Cake card stock and popped it up with dimensionals and used some pearls. Both so adorable!

This next card uses the new set Moon Baby and Better Together which is an old favorite. You could easily change this color and make it neutral or for a girl. Pat made this card and also used the new striped grosgrain ribbon in Dapper Denim. Not sure how well you can see the stars in the background, they are from the Wood Crate Framelits, I love those! She also used the watercolor pencils and a blender pen to color in the moon and baby, then cut the image out and popped it up with dimensional.  Super cute Pat!
This next card was done by little old me! I used a new set called Tabs for Everything. This set has a coordinating tab punch, but I didn't use that punch. I also used a set that came out last year called Badges & Banners, which also coordinates with a couple of other punches, which I did use! Those punches are called Duet Banner and Best Badge. I kept the colors soft. I also used Crumb Cake like the first two cards but paired mine with So Saffron, Peekaboo Peach, and Lemon Lime Twist. Lemon Lime Twist is such a bright color but when you only use a small amount of it, it doesn't seem so. I punched out the badge in Whisper White and stamped the elephant on all 3 colors and then punched out a couple of badges in the Vellum Card Stock. I used some Linen Thread and heat embossed the "Welcome Baby" with white embossing powder and popped it up with dimensional.

I hope you enjoyed today's cards. I'll have another post with the rest of the cards. If you need any of these products, you can pick them up in my STORE. Make sure you use this month's Host Code.

Thanks for stopping by!

Gift Bag Punch Board

I have a few samples to share with you today. Last weekend we had our New Catalog Open House and I demonstrated how to make this adorable treat holder using the Gift Bag Punch Board.

So here is what the punch board looks like. To tell the truth I don't use it much, but will be changing that! I went looking to get some ideas on making some alternative things with the board and now I can't wait to play some more!
I saw somewhere this adorable treat holder but unfortunately I can't remember where to give them credit. This is super simple to make and goes together quickly. You could put a Roche inside or some chocolates or candies. I started with a piece of 3 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper. You put the paper in horizontal and line up with the start line, punch, score around the gusset area (that triangle looking thing) and then the side line. And don't forget the horizontal line as well. I also used the 1/8" handheld circle punch to put a couple of holes for the ribbon. I used the tear n' tape to hold it altogether.

Here is a small purse. I don't remember what size card stock I started with. You can put some sweet treats in it or jewelry would be REALLY nice. The flap is basically doing the bottom of the bag just once! The balloons are attached with a dimensional and it just tucks behind them.

This is the typical bag you can make using the punch board. I CASED this from the catalog on page 148 using the Colorful Seasons Bundle. The card is landscaped, so I changed it to portrait. This would make a great bag to give a fabulous gift in for the holidays!

I hope you enjoyed today's projects. If you like more info on all the supplies I used, let me know or if you'd like to purchase any of these items you can find them in my Store!

Last group of Swaps!!!

Ok, we are at the end! This is the last group of swaps! I hope you are enjoying them. This card was done by another of my team! Her name is Maryann. I'm so glad to have her as part of my team! Maryann used the Happy Birthday Gorgeous bundle. She stamped some of the images on a piece of Whisper White and then die cut it with the "Happy Birthday" coordinating framelit and then die cut it again with the Bermuda Bay.
Lilly did this next card. She also used the "Happy Birthday" framelit and the Color Theory Designer Series Paper and some of the new Powder Pink 1/2" ribbon along with the new clear gems for a touch of sparkle!
For this next card Laura used the Hostess Rewards set called Feathery Friends. Isn't this adorable? She colored in parts of the bird and flowers and layered it with the Daisy Delight Designer Series Paper and added some of the fabulous new in color ribbon. This time it's the Fresh Fig 1/2" ribbon.
Ok, we're almost there! I know this is a long post! Barbara did this next card and also used that Daisy Delight Designer Series Paper as her background (That has been real popular!) and the Pocketful of Sunshine bundle. I have seen so many great projects made with this bundle. I haven't gotten this one yet, but I'm being tempted! How about you?

This last card was done by me! I used the set called Just Add Text, which are all just phrases so I had to come up with something else to go with it. I can't remember now where I got my idea from but I do remember seeing a similar layout and decided to go with the Bloom' Hearts thinlits and the Sweet and Sassy Framelits. I also used a couple of the new In Colors, Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst along with that 1/2" Berry Burst ribbon. I keep wanting to call this berry blast and keep looking up the name! Maybe after a year of using it I'll get it down!

I hope you've enjoyed all these cards. They've given me so many ideas for more cards and classes!

To purchase any of these items to make your own cards you can visit my STORE. While there don't forget about it being Bonus Days and earning those coupons for next month! Also use this month's VIP Host Code 7EGVYMW2. When you spend $50 I'll send you the supplies to make this month's card along with a PDF for the instructions to make that card. Check out my Monthly VIP Host Code on how to earn this month's Garden Trellis Embossing Folder!

Thanks for stopping by! Stay tuned for more projects to come!

Almost Done with Swap

I hope you're enjoying these swaps!

This first card was made by Vicki. She used Lovely Friends bundle. When I saw this demonstrated at On Stage I knew I had to have it! Here Vicki makes a wreath with the two vines. I love this, it shows the versatility of this set!

Louise made this next card. She used the Label Me Pretty Bundle and the new Wood Textures DSP. This DSP comes in a 6x6 pack and is so realistic looking! The Label Me Pretty bundle is another one of those that can be used in so many ways! I've already gotten a lot of use out of this bundle!
Here is another card using the Label Me Pretty Bundle by Lisa. See how different it is? Lisa use the Daisy Delight DSP and the Petal Burst E.F. with one of the new In Color Ribbons! This is a great card for using up pieces of card stock and DSP.

This last card was made by Pauline. She used the At Home With You Bundle. This is another one of those interactive cards. There are also pieces in the stamp set & framelit so you can give this "front door" a different look with the seasons or give to some to welcome them into the neighborhood! Here she made a great Christmas card.

Here is what it looks like with the door open.  I think this card could be made as just a card front, meaning you don't have to then open the card for something else inside, unless of course you wanted to! Your message is when you open the door and then sign the back.

I'll be making a few of these to send out to those special deserving friends!

Thanks for stopping by! Let me know if you need help with anything and for shopping click HERE!

Still working on Swaps!

So how was your 4th of July? I spent some of the morning weeding some of my garden and then catching up on stamping business! I hope yours was more exciting then mine!

This first card not only uses the Lovely Inside & Out Bundle, but the Daisy Bundle as well! This card was made by one of my new team members Daneen. She kept it simple with the die cut and backed it with a piece of Whisper White that used the circular image in the set and 3 of the new In Colors and also the clear Gems that she colored to give it a pinkish color. Love it!

This next card was made by Ann and she used the Eastern Palace Bundle/Suite. I don't think I can get enough of these framelits or any of the products in this suite.  The framelits are so versatile. I'm so glad I had taken advantage of the special Stampin' Up! ran last month with this suite. I'm not sure how well you can see it but Ann also used the vinyl stickers in the center of the "flower".

This last card was made by Annette. She also used the Eastern Palace, but totally changed up the color scheme. Amazing how different it looks just by changing the colors and changing the dies and how she cut them.

I hope you've enjoyed this next group of swaps. If you'd like to purchase any of these items, go to my Store.

Thanks for stopping by!
