Almost Done with Swaps!

I should be done posting my swaps in another few days. Don't want to post them all in one day. That would make the post waaay to long. I could just show all the cards just like to give you info about them.
This first card was made Pauline. Another very talented demonstrator in our group. Although I must say by all the swaps I received, they are all very talented! Anyway Pauline used the Cool Treats bundle for this card. I've been wanting to make a card like this and will have do come up with something similar for my technique class. The ice cream cone is shiny. Not sure it really shows up in the pictures. To make the ice cream cone shiny, she used VersaMark & clear embossing powder. For the openings, she used two different size square framelits.
Here is the card opened so you can see a bit better how it all looks.
This next card was done by another Barbara and used the Window Shopping bundle. I really like this bundle and have played with it a bit. This die is a bit different where it's the negative part you use. She stamped images from Swirly Bird behind the die cut to give it contrast. What a great card to re-create!

This card was made by Lily and used So in Love bundle. This is another bundle I just love. This is another suite that can be used for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays. Behind the lacy looking die cut is a piece of the coordinating DSP called Falling in Love. This would even work for Valentine's Day cards.

This last card uses the other set that coordinates with the So in Love called Falling for You and also used the Falling in Love DSP. Amazing how different the cards look! The DSP in this suite is soft hues of our subtles & neutrals. This card was made by Vicki. Both of these cards could be for a wedding or birthday. The butterflies in this cards were from Sunshine Wishes and it's hard to tell but also used the petal Burst Embossing folder and Stitched Framelits.

I should be able to get the last group posted all together and will be done with all of those swaps!

I hope you're enjoying them and don't forget if you see anything you like and would like to purchase it, you can find it in my store here.

We're Halfway Through Swaps!

These swaps will get us more then half through the 20 swaps I received! These first two are from the Urban Underground Suite. There is DSP, washi tape, embellishments & an embossing folder along with two stamp sets and framelits that all coordinate!
This first card is made by Ann. I'm not sure if you would call this a gate fold or not. The #1 image overlaps the two flaps. She used Urban District to make her card along with the coordinating DSP. The #1 has a die cut that is part of the bundle in the next card. I like how the two sets work so well together.
This next card was done by another good friend, Mena. She is so talented. I love how she got the wrench to look like its tightening one of the nuts. What a great Father's Day card! The hammer, screwdriver, wrench, ruler, nut & saying are all die cuts.

I also had a class using this stamp set and framelits. I showed how you can use this set for a variety of masculine cards. These sets have such great versatility.
This last card was done by Gina and she used the Balloon Adventure set. This set is also part of a bundle. Gina used the "bow" die on this card. I'm not sure if you can see it but this is a bit of a different fold. The numbers you see in the background is the inside of the card. She also used the Fine Tip Glue Pen to create glossy accents in the confetti area and on the "Happier Birthday". This is a fun card to give anyone!

I also developed a class using this set and dies. I haven't scheduled it yet, so if you think you'd be interested in doing this class, let me know and I'll get it on the books sooner, rather then later.

I hoped you enjoyed the swaps so far and will be posting more in a day or two. In the meantime, if you'd like to purchase any items shown, click here to shop my store.

Still have more swaps!!!

We're almost halfway through the swaps! We were a group of 20. So after these I'll have 12 more to show. I hope you're enjoying seeing what everyone made.
This first one I don't know who did it, sorry.  The stamp set is call High Tide. I really like this set. It has some nice sayings and images. She also used By the Shore DSP in the annual catalog. This is a gate fold card and she used the stitched framelits as a focal point. Just love this card. Below is the inside of the card.
Here is the inside, just love it! This set is kinda like a two step. The sand in this picture shows how nicely the image wraps around the lighthouse. This is a photopolymer set so it's very easy to stamp these images.

This next card was made by my very good friend and upline, Tina. She used Moon Baby for her swap. Her daughter in law is expecting another baby and this is a perfect set! She stamped the image on watercolor paper and die cut it with the stitched framelits. The background paper is from the Subtles paper stack.
This last card I also don't know who made it. I know there was a list of who signed up for what set, but I don't have that in front of me, so I'm sorry for not giving each of these people the credit for their work.

This card uses Easter Messages. I like how she used the palm image to create a background. What a nice Easter card!

Here is the link to my store if you want to get any of these products to create your very own card!

Even More Swaps!

Hope you enjoyed the swaps from the other day and they inspire you to make you're own cards! Today I have a few more.
This first card is by Alyce. She used Yummy in My Tummy. I love this set! Such cute images and great if you have kids. Here she made it like a Valentine card. I've seen so many samples using it in so many different ways. This would also be great for a treat for party favors too!
As you can see, she punched out the tummy and put that on the inside of the card. A very cute card!
Here is another Valentine card by Leslie. She used Sealed With Love. Need I say I love this bundle too! I had a class using this bundle. We made a Valentine Sampler! Loved it! She also used the Metallic Ribbon from Sale-a-Bration and the coordinating DSP Sending Love. See that edge of hearts? That's the thinlits doing all the work! Besides Valentines this set is great for anniversary & wedding cards. So even though Valentine's Day may be over, this is something you can use all year long!
Here is another card using Mediterranean Moments and Beautiful You! I'm sorry but I don't have who made this gorgeous card. Love how she used a bit of the gold glimmer on the edge & added a heart. She also used that gold metallic ribbon from Sale-a-Bration. That ribbon is so soft.

Hope you have enjoyed another post of these great swaps! If you need to order any of these products, you can shop my store here!

More Swaps

Ok, here we go! Here are a couple of the swaps I received from the Spring Fling Occasions Swap.
This first one is by Donna. She used the Lift Me Up stamp set & thinlit. We have so many bundles in this catalog, I love it. In case you didn't know, when you purchase a bundle you save 10%! There are dies to cut pieces to fill in the sections of the balloon but to get even more detail, Donna colored the sections in with markers. The clouds and smaller balloons were all die cut. The patterned paper you see on each side are from Sale-a-Bration. Love'n that paper too!
This 2nd card is by Barbara. It actually uses 2 different stamp sets, Beautiful You and Mediterranean Moments. The image of the woman is stamped first then stamped on a piece of post-it or copy paper and cut out and put on top of image and then stamped with the background. I believe she watercolored the image of the woman in with Melon Mambo. Such a beautiful and simple card!

Occasion Catalog Swap

Now that I finished with the Sale-a-Bration Swap, I'll be posting the swaps I received at our Spring Fling event for the Occasion Catalog. I'm really enjoying this catalog and Stampin' Up! has made it really difficult to choose what to get! I signed up for the Dragonfly Dreams set. There are so many samples out there and trying to decide what to do wasn't easy. After playing around with the bundle (there are thinlits that coordinate with the stamp set) I decided I wanted the dragonfly wings to shimmer and also wanted to use our vellum cardstock. So my predicament was getting the image in black and to shimmer. Being we don't sell black embossing powder any longer, that was out. I first inked the image in VersaMark then in black Memento and stamped on the vellum and used clear embossing powder. After using markers to color in the back of the image I used the clear Wink of Stella to color the front and couldn't really see the sparkle. I decided to mix the clear embossing powder with Dazzzling Diamonds Glitter. After playing around a bit I came up with a good mix and just the right amount of sparkle.
It's hard to see the shimmer/glitter in this picture.

Here is a close up so you can see the sparkle.

Here is a picture of the dragonflies as I was working on them. The top one is the one I used on my card. The middle one is the first one I did and the last one was after I mixed the clear embossing powder and Dazzling Diamonds. That was a 50/50 mix and thought is was just too glittery.

I'll post a few more of my other swaps in a day or so. I hope you enjoyed this and has given you some inspiration to play around with your stamps as well! If you need to order any of these products or anything else, you can go to my store here!

Last of the Sale-a-Bration Swaps!

These last two swaps are absolutely adorable! They used the Hey Chick. It comes with 3 different chickens and an egg image along with a few greetings. For a little while the stamp sets were even on backorder! I haven't had a chance to play with them yet, but these cards will certainly get me going!

This first card is by Pat. I'm also going to On Stage with her. We are certainly going to have a lot of fun! Pat is another good friend and very talented stamper. Love her color combo.
This card was made by another Barbara and also very talented. She always comes up with fun cards! This is kinda like a gate fold but horizontal. Barbara also used the Urban Underground DSP.

I hope all these Sale-a-Bration swaps have inspired you as much as they have me. If you'd like to get any of these stamps, they're all FREE! With each $50 you can get a Sale-a-Bration item. Visit my store for all of your stampin' needs! Sale-a-Bration ends March 31.

2 More Sale-a-Bration Swaps

I have couple a couple of "tasty" swaps for you today. Have you seen the Sale-a-Bration set called Tasty Trucks? Well if not, I have a couple for you today! I've seen them used several ways and these two are just adorable.

This first card is made by Jennifer. I'm in a general monthly swap with her and finally got to meet her at On Stage in November. She also recently became one of Stampin' Up!'s Artisans. I feel so special to be a part of the swap and able to swap with her on a monthly basis! But back to THIS swap! This reminds me of the ice cream truck that would come around in the summer when I was a kid! She also used the Urban Underground & Cupcakes and Carousels DSP. This is a nice set to color! Love it!
This next card was done by another talented demonstrator Barbara. I'll be going to On Stage with her in April too! This is such a fun set. Here are two uses for this truck. The set also comes with a taco, cupcake, & pancake stack images along with several word phrases. These cards are making me hungry!

I have to make a few cards with this set! These swaps have inspired me and I hope they have inspired you!

Sale-a-Bration Swaps Continued!

So have you liked the swaps so far? I have a few more to share.

This one was made by another good friend Louise. I think so far all these swaps have been by good friends! Amazing that before I became a demonstrator I didn't know much about stamping or had many friends! Now, I know so many stampers and have so many friends! That's just ONE reason to be a demonstrator. I think it's the BEST part of being a demonstrator! Anyway back to the card. She also used the Designer Tee stamp set and also didn't use the T-shirt framelits. I do like this bundle, but I can only get so much! I love all the color that she used, just like a rainbow! The strips were made from the set Work of Art.

This next one was made by Laura. Laura and I along with a couple of other demonstrators are going to On Stage in Richmond in April. I can't wait. We'll get to see the new annual catalog! How exciting! Another advantage to being a demonstrator! Ok, back to the card. This set is called So Very Much. Laura embossed the "thank you" with silver embossing powder, which really sets it off! This set is great set for sending all kinds of thank you cards. She also used the Playful Palette DSP which coordinates with the Work of Art stamp set.

This last card was made by Donna. I love how she used the DSP Inside the Lines along with the Metallic Ribbon. This paper is so much fun to play with! You can leave it blank, color it in with pencils, markers, or even watercolor it! And the ribbon is so luxurious! I thought this ribbon would be stiff, but it's not, it's so soft and supple.

Well that's all for today. I hope you've enjoyed this latest batch. I'll have two more posts with four more cards. Also, I talked about being a demonstrator today and if you're curious about what it entails, contact me and I can give you more info. Stampin' Up! has a great deal during Sale-a-Bration to sign up. You can also go to my website for more info on joining this fabulous family!

More Swaps!

As promised here are a few more swaps! Both of these swaps used the Avant Garden. I really like this set. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to have it! One can never have enough flower stamp sets!

This first one was done by another good friend Dale. Dale also helped in the planning and preparing of our Spring Fling event. The background was the top of the flower stamped repeatedly around the border. Doesn't it look like patterned paper? Very simple, but elegant I think!

This next one was made by another good friend Debbie. I just love these colors. Really makes you think spring! The stripes behind the top layer is the new 2016-2018 Envelope Paper! I didn't get this paper, I'm going to think twice about that paper. You can obviously use it to make envelopes, but using it as you would patterned paper! I really like these new colors they introduced in the annual catalog. Don't they look yummy?

I hope you enjoyed these cards and have inspired you to make some of your own or want to get this set! If you need any of the supplies to re-create them you can find them in my store.

Spring Fling!?

No it is spring, sad to say, but our Spring Fling event is over and I can now concentrate on my classes, blogging, and everything else! We had a great day and everyone loved the projects we had planned. If you're wondering what the Spring Fling event was, it's our local event that my upline Tina puts on and I've been helping her plan and prepare it for the last several years. As demonstrators for Stampin' Up! we get together to share ideas, create stamped projects, learn about new products and business ideas. We had a couple of organized swaps, which I participated in and had lots of fun in general. Over the next few weeks, I'll share with you the swaps that I made and received. The smaller swap was for Sale-a-Bration.
Sale-a-Bration is a huge sale that Stampin' Up! has every year, starting in January. You get a FREE item for every $50 you spend, so everyone makes out. To top it off, last year Stampin' Up! started adding product halfway into this huge event! So next week you'll have even more items to choose from!
This first swap is mine. I used the Designer Tee set. The "Happy Birthday" is from that set, along with many other sayings that fit great into the Tee framelit in the Occasion Catalog. I didn't get that framelit (I know crazy!) but wanted to show it being used without the framelit. I also used the Candle Border punch. We made a similar card at the recent Open House. I tried to keep it simple, so if the recipients wanted to use it for a class. That's part of the reason for participating in a swap, is to get ideas and to have more samples! I hope you enjoy!
The next swap is from a good friend Gayle. She ran the swap and came all the way down from Massachusetts to be with us! Doesn't she do lovely work! She used Delicate Details. I love the colors, very soothing, don't you think? This is a very easy card to duplicate for a class!
Well I hope you enjoyed these cards and I will post a few more in a couple of days!
