Feature Friday

Happy Friday! Opps! I thought I posted this yesterday! That's how crazy it is around here!

The crunch is on for Christmas! I hope you're all fairing better then me. I prepared so much before I went away and still have so much more to do! I guess my biggest things to get done are the cards I give my mil for Christmas. I don't remember the count but I have a list of everyone she sends birthday and anniversary cards to and do a card for each one. Fortunately I have a HUGE stash! But I still have to go through the whole thing. The next is finish the gift for my brother in law and his finance and the last thing, which I can do after Christmas is my monthly swap for December.

So today I have some alternate cards using the Musical Season Bundle. I wanted to show how this bundle could be used all year. The moment I saw this bundle I knew I had to have it. We haven't had anything like this before and love how the dies coordinate with the framelits. There is a note that has not stamp, but so glad this was included with this set.

Here's a recap of what Feature Friday is for those who are new to my blog. Each month on Friday I do "Feature Friday", where I show different ways to use a particular product. For December I choose the Musical Season Bundle. You can get it in clear or wood mount. Of course you can buy just the stamp set or just the framelits, but when you get both you save 10%!

My first card does look very festive, but think this could easily be used for a special birthday for any music lover.

I used the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series paper which does have Christmas music on it, but don't think you really see much of that after the glitter and embellishments are on it. We do sell a background music stamp which you could do as well. That is more generic.  I sponged some crumb cake ink on the paper to soften the white. I wanted to use Very Vanilla card stock and felt the white on the paper just popped way too much. I then dried it with my heat tool then rubbed my embossing buddy on it. The reason for this is I learned the hard way! I didn't the first go around! I mixed the Tombo liquid glue with some water then dropped the glue on the paper then sprinkled the gold glitter on it. I did set this aside to dry for awhile. Also didn't do this on the first one!

This is a close up of the focal point. Not sure how well you can see it but I did use the Stitched Shapes die to put the horn on. I used the black metallic thread right under the horn and a piece of the black shimmer ribbon. Under all that I have a piece of gold edge ribbon and a strip of gold glimmer paper. I really love the way this card turned out. Now to find someone special to give it to!

This next card also uses the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series paper, but still feel you don't notice what's on the paper. I was going for a more masculine look. This is a much simpler look.

Well that's all for today. I've got a lot to do before Monday! I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I'll have a couple more alternative cards for you next week. Just in case you didn't know. This bundle will be retiring on January 2, so if you've enjoyed these samples and would like to make your own or others, get it before it's too late!
