Feature Friday

It's that time to do the Happy Friday Dance! Plus it's a new month, so I have a new product for you! When I saw this in the Occasions catalog I liked it but thought it a bit too childest in the style, but when I saw all the amazing samples out there I just had to have it! I hope my weekly samples do the same for you!

This amazing bundle is called Magical Day. It immediately reminded me of several different movies and my son (now an adult) has always enjoyed these types of movies I thought what a great birthday card for him along with cards I could send to so many others in my life. You can get the stamp set in wood or clear mount and each sheet of Designer Series paper has glitter on one side. The other side of course coordinates with the magical side but you could use the opposite for anything. Another great feature Stampin' Up! has been doing and I love it!

Here is the bundle and all the pieces you get. I've used almost every piece already and I've just begun playing with this set!

With this first group of cards I was playing with my new Brusho Crystals, and I must say, I'm loving this new product! When I showed this card to my daughter she said it looked like the dragon was sitting on a pile of gold. I was trying to make it look like clouds, but she said no that's what dragons do! That goodness for kids (even adult ones)! So I swapped out one of my green glimmer clouds for a gold one and there you go! The dragon is colored with the Brusho as well as the background and I added some of the new gold glitter flakes. I pretty much just put some liquid glue where I wanted his "scales" to be and sprinkled them on and then did some fine tuning to make them look more like scales. Yes I should have taken a close up picture of that!

For this next card I was going for a night sky as in knight! I did this technique which I can't recall what it's called but it's done with watercoloring and that's pretty much what you're doing when you use the Brusho with some varying differences. After I got all the blue on I wanted to see how it would look if I let it dry with the plastic bag on it scrunched up. I really like the way this one turned out. I did this on Shimmery white card stock and keep it from warping I taped the card stock down. It did help.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed these first creations of mine using this new bundle. I can't wait to play more with this set. I can just picture using this for some different themed birthday parties and some fantastic other types of cards as well. I look forward to your comments.
